News release

7th February 2013

Is your business equipped for the major changes to payroll in April 2013? With only two months to go, HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) is urging employers to prepare for the introduction of Real Time Information (RTI).

From 6th April 2013 employers will have to start reporting PAYE information to HMRC in real time – and chartered accountants Duncan & Toplis can offer professional help and advice to businesses that will soon be affected by the overhaul of the PAYE system.

The leading East Midlands accountancy practice insists that taking advantage of its expert advice during the transition will remove an administrative burden and could increase the cost savings for your business.

Duncan & Toplis also has its own dedicated payroll team and can process the payroll of any business on a permanent basis.

The new PAYE system will require employers to submit PAYE returns electronically using RTI software each time they pay their employees. The system, referred to as Real Time Information, will replace the previous method of sending a return at the end of each year.

HM Revenue and Customs is urging businesses to prepare for these changes immediately to avoid a last-minute rush in April.

Over the last few months Duncan & Toplis has communicated with its existing clients with regard to their preparation for RTI. Payroll Partner David Gratton said: “We appreciate the significance of this change to the PAYE system and we are here to support businesses through it.

“We want to ensure that our clients’ shift to the new PAYE system runs as smoothly as possible, and we hope to achieve this by working closely with our payroll software provider and HMRC’s RTI advisors.”

Jo Gale, Payroll Manager at Duncan & Toplis, added: “We can provide assistance to those business that are unfamiliar with RTI software and new technology. We can provide expert knowledge and support that allows our clients to concentrate on their core business while we take care of RTI.”

For more information on how to prepare for RTI, or for a free initial assessment of your specific business needs, visit the Duncan & Toplis website www.duntop.co.uk or call your nearest office.
