The Chief Executive of Young’s Seafood Limited has joined the board of the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership.

Leendert den Hollander has been recruited to help drive forward the work of the LEP, an organisation led by the private sector which aims to improve conditions for business in the Greater Lincolnshire area.

“We’re delighted with this appointment as we have been looking for a candidate with a senior role in a key sector in North-East Lincolnshire,” said Ursula Lidbetter MBE, Chair of the Greater Lincolnshire LEP.

“Leendert runs one of the biggest food manufacturing companies in the region and his knowledge of Greater Lincolnshire and of the food sector will make him an invaluable member of our board.”

Mr den Hollander joins the 16-strong board as a private-sector representative and will help to shape the direction of the LEP’s three year business plan which was launched at the first annual Greater Lincolnshire LEP Business Summit in Market Rasen last week.

Young’s Seafood Limited supplies chilled and frozen, branded and own-label fish and seafood to customers and consumers and is a major employer in Grimsby.  Mr den Hollander became Chief Executive of Young’s Seafood Limited in March 2011 and he also serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the Food and Drink Federation and a Board Member of the Humber Seafood Group.

Commenting on his appointment, Leendert den Hollander said: “Grimsby has such a rich heritage and a strong seafood manufacturing industry. I’m delighted to join the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership and play a part in the work they do to support the regional economy.”
