SHOOTING STAR PR NOMINATED FOR OUTSTANDING AWARD
News release
9th August 2012
A Lincoln-based PR agency is among some of the best in the UK according to the awards shortlist revealed by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) today (25th July).
Shooting Star PR has been shortlisted in the Outstanding Small Consultancy category in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire at this year’s CIPR PRide Awards. This category recognises the achievements, performance and excellent work of small consultancies with five employees or fewer.
More than 1,000 entries were received from freelancers, consultancies and in-house teams across twelve UK regions and nations.
Director of Shooting Star PR Kate Strawson said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have been shortlisted in the category of Outstanding Small Consultancy for the third year running as we were up against some stiff competition from other agencies not just in Lincolnshire but across the whole of Yorkshire.
“We’re really looking forward to finding out whether or not we’ve won, although the standard of entries is always exceptionally high and it’s a real honour just to have been shortlisted.”
CIPR CEO Jane Wilson MCIPR also commented: “The CIPR PRide Awards celebrate the best PR and communications campaigns and teams from the profession across the UK. To be shortlisted for a CIPR PRide Award demonstrates exemplary achievement, impact and value – immediately putting your work in the spotlight.
“The sheer number of high-quality entries received this year, especially when things are still pretty tough out there economically, is testament to a thriving nationwide industry. Congratulations for reaching this stage and the best of luck for the awards presentation evenings.”
The judging process for the PRide Awards is rigorous with a national panel of industry experts assessing the shortlisted entries and choosing the winners. One of the 2012 Chairs of Judges, Gill Dandy FCIPR, Senior Consultant at The Centre for Strategy and Communication, will assist in ensuring a fair and consistent judging process.
Gill Dandy, commented: “I would like to congratulate all of the individuals and teams that have been shortlisted across the twelve regions and nations in the UK. The standard of entries continues to improve year on year which demonstrates an increasingly vibrant public relations profession.”
The winners of the 2012 Yorkshire and Lincolnshire CIPR PRide Awards will be announced at a black-tie dinner on 15th November at The Queens in Leeds.
Shooting Star PR works for local and national public and private sector clients across a wide range of industries including DoubleTree by Hilton Lincoln, The Old Station Nursery, Duncan & Toplis and the Greater Lincolnshire LEP.
