SHOOTING STARS FOR SPORTS PARTNERSHIP
Lincoln-based public relations agency Shooting Star PR has announced Lincolnshire Sports Partnership as its Charity of the Year for 2012.
Each year the agency provides free advice and expertise to a different local charity or non-profit organisation which would not otherwise be able to afford ongoing PR.
Lincolnshire Sports Partnership’s main aim is to increase participation in sport and physical activity across the county. During 2012 they are hoping to raise awareness of the Olympic Games and improve sporting opportunities and sport provision throughout Lincolnshire.
Janet Inman, Chief Executive of Lincolnshire Sports Partnership, said: “We are delighted to be Shooting Star PR’s Charity of the Year and look forward to working with them throughout the year.
“Improving the fitness, health and wellbeing of people in Lincolnshire through sport, and using the London 2012 Games as inspiration, is our aim for 2012. With the support of Shooting Star PR, we truly feel that we can inspire people in Lincolnshire to celebrate the Games and be part of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
Shooting Star PR will provide its services to Lincolnshire Sports Partnership throughout 2012 which will include news releases, feature writing, event planning and media monitoring to help promote their fundraising efforts and raise their profile.
Kate Strawson, director of Shooting Star PR said: “In Olympic year, when sport is so high on everyone’s agenda, it seemed fitting that we should offer to help the Lincolnshire Sports Partnership which does so much excellent work increase participation in sport and physical activity across the county.
“LSP made a very persuasive case and we’re looking forward to working with them to further raise awareness of their activities.”
