News release

12th July 2012

The design team at glass manufacturer Beatson Clark has welcomed another new recruit.

Steve Nussey (44) joined the company at the beginning of May and brings 28 years of experience in the glass industry to the department.

He has been appointed to replace designer Dave Ashworth, who will retire in August 2012 after 48 years with Beatson Clark.

Steve began his career in glass at an early age: he joined glass mould manufacturer Esdale Ltd in Batley straight from school aged 16 and completed a full engineering apprenticeship before working his way up to the role of Design Manager.

Steve subsequently joined Hungarian firm Ross Mould International, where he worked as a UK-based sales service manager – but after three years in sales he says he’s pleased to be back in a design environment.

“Design is something that I enjoy and I am very pleased to be working with Beatson Clark,” he said. “I’ve dealt with them before on the sales side and it’s nice to be involved now in the day-to-day business of the company.

“I’m looking forward to working with the production team and helping Beatson Clark to maintain its position as a leading niche supplier in the glass market.

“I’m learning a lot from Dave Ashworth and Design Engineer Dean Arey but I’m also looking to bring the experience I’ve gained over the last 28 years to help move the business forward.”

Steve has two daughters and lives in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.
