Businesses in Boston can learn about the ins and outs of Internet search engines thanks to a free seminar next month.

The eBiz byte seminar, What's New in Search, is being delivered by the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce and is funded by Lincolnshire County Council's onlincolnshire project.  It will take place at 8.30am on Wednesday 5th September at Boston West Golf Club at Hubbert's Bride.

Delivered by Ian Lockwood, this eBiz byte seminar will provide you with tips on how to avoid being ‘Pandalized’ by Google (where your website becomes less visible in searches), how to benefit from the impending introduction in the UK of Google Search Plus Your World, and how the landscape of pay-per-click advertising is evolving.

The session rounds up with a prediction of how the search landscape will continue to develop and the tactics you should be employing now to be prepared.

Charlotte Baxter from the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “This eBiz byte seminar will benefit anyone involved in the online marketing or management of a business website who wishes to keep up to date with changes in the industry. No technical knowledge is required – that’s what we’re aiming to help you with!”

Only businesses based in Lincolnshire are able to attend the event.

The Chamber is spearheading the council's Broadband Means Business campaign along with the Federation of Small Businesses and the Institute of Directors.  It is hoped the seminar can go some way towards demonstrating the benefits of better broadband and encourage more businesses to register with onlincolnshire.org. All the sign-ups will eventually be used to demonstrate to commercial suppliers that there is an appetite for superfast broadband in the county.

The initiative is part of Lincolnshire County Council’s Lincolnshire Broadband Plan, which aims to bring next-generation broadband (a minimum of 24Mbps) to 90% of county premises and a guarantee of at least 2Mbps by 2015.

The seminar will run from 8.30am until 11.30am. Spaces are allocated on a first come, first served basis and must be booked in advance. To make a booking either email Charlotte.Baxter@lincs-chamber.co.uk or call 01522 846293.
