The results of a major survey taking the temperature of the Lincolnshire economy will be unveiled at an event to be jointly hosted by accountants Duncan & Toplis and the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce at the end of this month.

Business leaders will gather at BG Futures, Bishop Grosseteste University College Lincoln for a breakfast meeting on Thursday 29th March to hear the results of the survey.

In the first poll of its kind Duncan & Toplis and the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce have been interviewing senior business figures by telephone to gauge confidence in  the county economy and find out what business people think about a range of issues, from energy prices and transport infrastructure to tax and Government economic policy.

The results will be shared on 29th March at a special event which will features guest speakers Alastair Cunningham, Regional Agent for the Bank of England, and Mark Berrisford-Smith, Head of Economics, HSBC UK Commercial Banking.

“We have had an excellent response to our survey and we’re sure the results will make interesting reading for policy makers and the business community alike,” said Tim Godson, a partner at Duncan & Toplis inLincoln.

“This is the first time we have collaborated with the Chamber on such a survey and we hope it will become an annual exercise in the future.”

Chris Brown, Membership Development for the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “It is vital that we as a Chamber lobby on behalf of our members to the Bank of England and the Government, and this partnership with Duncan & Toplis enables us glean important intelligence about the state of the Lincolnshire economy.

“We hope that the event will be well attended as it will be an ideal opportunity for local business people to discuss the outcomes of the survey and feed back on current trading conditions and projections for the 2012/13 financial year.”

The survey features both quantitative and qualitative research and has been conducted via one-to-one telephone interviews with both Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce members and clients of Duncan & Toplis.

The event will be held at BG Futures, Bishop Grosseteste University College Lincoln from 8am until 10am on Thursday 29th March 2012. Tickets cost £10 for members and £15 for non-members.
