Waldeck Receives Proactive Promoter Award from ProHelp
News Release
8th February 2012
Waldeck has earned an accolade from the East Midlands division of Business in the Community (BITC) – one of Britain’s top business-led charities, for their contribution to BITC’s local ProHelp scheme.
In the first-ever East Midlands Internal ProHelp Member Awards, Waldeck was named 2011’s ‘Most Proactive Promoter’ in the region.
Waldeck was presented with the award for its efforts in promoting work done for ProHelp to the media throughout the region, thereby raising awareness of ProHelp and the services it provides to the community.
Throughout 2011 Waldeck posted multiple stories on its website about work being done for ProHelp and sent several news releases to the media about ProHelp initiatives, resulting in coverage within publications including the Corby Evening Telegraph and the Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph.
Waldeck Director Andrew Dent said the company is thrilled to have received recognition for their work.
“We know that this is only an informal award, but that doesn’t take any excitement away from winning,” said Andrew.
“We enjoy tackling social and environmental issues throughout the East Midlands with ProHelp, and we appreciate being recognised for the work we do to further the vision of ProHelp.”
Since becoming a member of ProHelp in September 2010 Waldeck has taken part in nine community service projects – with six of those projects taking place in 2011.
Some of Waldeck’s major 2011 ProHelp projects included conducting structural condition surveys for the Nottingham African Centre and for Kings Heath Community Centre, Spencer Dallington Community Centre and Briar Hill Community Centre in Northampton.
According to ProHelp and Business Champions Co-ordinator Lezli Hall, ProHelp hopes that recipients of the first ever East Midlands ProHelp Member Awards have set an example for other ProHelp members in the region.
“The purpose of giving these informal and light-hearted awards was to give recognition to our members in the East Midlands region who continually go above and beyond on behalf of ProHelp, like Waldeck, while encouraging other members to do the same, if not more, in the coming year,” said Lezli.
“Our hope is to instil a bit of friendly competition among our East Midlands members for the benefit of ProHelp and all of the communities served throughout the region.”
