Siemens Industry UK and Morgan Sindall Group plc, a leading UK construction and regeneration group, have today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, which will see both companies enter a strategic technology and infrastructure partnership.

The Memorandum represents a reciprocal trading agreement between Siemens, its associated companies and Morgan Sindall Group and has been designed to benefit both parties. It comes into effect immediately.

Siemens will become one of Morgan Sindall’s key technology partners, providing advice and guidance in relation to technical and technological aspects of projects delivered across its business. The partnership will allow Morgan Sindall to leverage advantages of scale, including life cycle cost benefits as well as commercial and technical benefits relating to the supply of Siemens products, services and solutions.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the Siemens Answers for Industry Conference ‘Make it in Great Britain’ event in July, following Vince Cable’s speech on growth and investment in the manufacturing sector delivered to leading industry figures from across the UK.

Siemens Industry UK MD, Juergen Maier, said, “I am delighted that we have entered into a partnership with Morgan Sindall Group. This is a great example of two leading companies working together to create jobs, growth and investment. I am proud that our two businesses will work together to develop key UK infrastructure projects – it is a sign that we are optimistic about growth, and that we are more than confident to invest in the UK marketplace.

“What is particularly special about this is that, by working closely together, Siemens can offer advice and guidance on technological solutions that are not just tailored but also provide real cost benefits.”

Morgan Sindall MD, Graham Shennan, added, “Siemens chose to partner with Morgan Sindall Group because of our strong sector alignment, our geographical spread right across the UK and our mutual expertise in infrastructure development throughout the country. We are both multi-disciplinary organisations with capabilities shared across each company and we already use Siemens products across many of our key projects.

“Working together on strategic infrastructure projects means we have the expertise and skills that will deliver world class solutions across the UK.”
