Sifo Group acquires Finnish company
Sifo Group acquires Finnish company Sifo Group AB has signed an agreement to acquire Pressfax OY, Finland's leading company in fax distribution and media data. Pressfax, which has its operations in Helsinki, currently has three employees and in 1998 had revenues of approximately SEK 2.5 million. Pressfax provides distribution services primarily via fax as well as a media database with information on Finnish media. Pressfax will be coordinated with BIT Börslistans Informationstjänst, which is part of the Observer Media Intelligence Division of Sifo Group. BIT, the leader in its field in Sweden, distributes financial information such as press releases, annual reports and interim reports to the media and stock market principally on behalf of publicly listed companies. "Pressfax is BIT's first international acquisition," says Hans Strand, Manager of the Observer Media Intelligence Division. "It will be an important complement in an increasingly globalized information market."
