Sikich Expands Technology Specialties with Most Recent Merger
NAPERVILLE, Ill. — February 4, 2013 — Sikich LLP, a leading accounting, advisory, investment banking, technology and managed services firm, has merged with S2 Consulting, Inc., a technology advisory firm based in Plainfield, Ill. With this merger, effective January 31, Sikich will enhance its current technology offerings to clients to include specialized experience in customizing technology solutions with a focus on electronic data interchange (EDI).
“Since S2 is adept in various technology services—from software development to network infrastructure—bringing their team on board marks a significant step forward for our entire technology practice,” said Jeff Rudolph, partner-in-charge of technology at Sikich. “Uniting their expertise with our seasoned professionals will open many doors for our clients. In particular, S2’s deep EDI experience is an area in which our clients will find extremely beneficial for their bottom lines.”
Specifically, this merger will grant Sikich’s clients access to a broader range of technology solutions that will help improve organizational operations, including those focused on logistics, inventory control, barcode scanning, UPS system integration, e-commerce and EDI interfaces.
S2 brings with it more than 50 years of combined experience on both the enterprise resource planning and IT infrastructure sides. Owners Mel Heckman and Ryan Clark will join Sikich, both of whom specialize in operational and technical advisory services. Heckman has worked with all the major EDI mass retailers, including Sears, Walmart, Target and more. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in operations management from Northern Illinois University. Clark earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Western Illinois University.
