- SAS Web Shop is launched for mobile access during CeBIT

The Swedish software company Adimo has developed a mobile portal for Scandinavian Airlines Systems, SAS, and a mobile payment solution together with the Swedish payment supplier Paynova. These new developments will provide the consumers with an easy mobile shopping experience. This new mobile payment solution makes it possible to purchase products using regular credit cards in a safe way instead of traditional invoicing or being charged on your mobile bill. The SAS Web Shop will open on the mobile net on March 15th.

The SAS MobilePortal enables the SAS Web Shop, the airlines company’s online store, to take the step over to the mobile. It is now also possible to purchase more high priced products.

“Everyone that visits the SAS Web Shop will now also be able to buy gifts, jewellery and accessories directly with their mobile phone via the SAS MobilePortal in the same fashion as they do in the online store. The advantages are that the payment does not appear on the mobile phone bill, but will be processed through a Paynova account connected to a credit card. This means for example that all subscribers will still be able to buy products with their mobile phone without their company ending up paying for the purchase”, says Annika Tivenius at SAS.

The SAS MobilePortal was developed during the autumn of 2005 by SAS Business Opportunities and the software company Adimo (previously known as Primat and Digital Action), which are experts on mobile publishing and mobile strategies. The SAS MobilePortal was awarded the price ”Best Mobile Solution” at the 2005 SIME awards.

“We have a very interesting cooperation with SAS, and the launch of the new payment solution is an important step for the development of mobile e-commerce. There is a great potential for all the companies that would like to offer their products and services on the mobile net” says Mia Sandell, Director of Business Development at Adimo.

Paynova has developed the payment solution that enables the SAS customers to shop safely via their mobile. The customers don’t need to worry about their credit card or other information ending up in the wrong hands. Paynova’s payment solution is fully integrated into the SAS Mobile Portal.

“This initiative shows that Paynova can deliver services for companies that are ready to exploit the potential in mobile commerce. This service is internationally adaptable and as safe as our web based solutions. It is a development of the solutions used on the Internet by the Swedish national rail company SJ, Nintendo, Swedish retailers Teknikmagasinet and the German e-commerce company STRATO. In this new solution we have combined the strengths in Adimo’s expertise in mobile publishing with Paynovas payment solutions, creating a complete mobile portal service”, says Karl Alberts, marketing director at Paynova.

The system is operator and bank independent and can be accessed by most popular mobile phones products. A demo version of the SAS Web Shop will be available during CeBIT March 9 – 14 (To try it out please contact Mia Sandell, see details below) The new mobile shop will open in real mode March 15. SAS Mobile Portal can be accessed from mobiles at www.sasmobile.net.
