CarFest auction set to be a ‘classic’

40 amazing cars spanning more than 80 years in age are set to find new homes at this year’s CarFest North ‘Pride & Joy’ classic car auction.

The sale, hosted by Silverstone Auctions, takes place on Sunday 4th August at Oulton Park in Cheshire and includes offerings from a host of the world’s finest car manufacturers such as Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Jaguar, Lotus, Morgan and Porsche.

Last year’s CarFest auctions raised more than £90,000 for BBC Children in Need and the charity is once again set to gain greatly from the event with dozens of charity lots also going under the hammer. Enthusiasts looking to get the ultimate behind the scenes look at the motor industry can bid on visits to the Ariel, Aston Martin or Ferrari factories or even to the Bloodhound Super Sonic car technical centre!

For those looking for a car with a celebrity connection, then how about a 1964 Austin Mini Mk I, estimated at between £6,000 and £8,000, once owned by CarFest creator Chris Evans nonetheless and now built to Cooper specification.

Fancy a road trip to remember this summer? Then why not bid for a superb 1965 Volkswagen Split Screen Camper Van, restored over six years and estimated at between £14,000 and £17,000, or a 1969 Volkswagen T2 Westfalia, imported to the UK from California and estimated at between £15,000 to £18,000.

Alternatively, buyers looking for the ultimate CarFest Camper Van can watch renowned specialists Camper King convert and build a VW Camper Van live during the event before bidding on the vehicle which all of the proceeds are being very generously donated to Children in Need.

As the 911 celebrates fifty fantastic years, is there a better time to bid for a stylish 1985 Carrera Convertible, estimated at between £12,000 to £15,000 and with still plenty of time to enjoy this summer?

Meanwhile, if it’s pure history you’re after, then at 83 and the oldest car on offer, a 1930 Morris Flat Nose Cowley, estimated at between £13,500 to £15,500 is sure to catch the attention.

Other charity lots on offer include a spa day, tickets in the Directors box to watch Liverpool FC take on Manchester United, a year’s supply of Higgidy pies and quiches, an Aga cooker and much, much more.

Auction action starts at 11.30am on Sunday 4th August with viewing all day on the Friday and Saturday, so there’s plenty of opportunity to see the superb collection of cars up close and ‘in the metal’ beforehand.
