Sixty rare and varied watches, including those from Rolex, Heuer Carrera, Graham, Cartier and Omega, are a highlight of the lifestyle collection at the Silverstone Classic Sale on Saturday 27th July.

The auction in Northamptonshire offers the chance to own one of the most desirable watches ever made, a Rolex Explorer 2 ‘Steve McQueen’ model 1655 with orange hand, estimated at between £9,000 to £11,000.

Presented with box, booklet and original receipt, the case is 40mm stainless steel, while the black dial has a racing baton hour and minute markers with white luminous hands and the striking orange 24 hour hand.

Other Rolex’s include a stunning 18ct gold Oyster Perpetual Date example, estimated at between £4,500 to £6,500 and a rare 14ct yellow gold Oyster Perpetual Date, estimated at between £3,500 to £4,500.

Meanwhile, style personified is present in a Girard-Perregaux Ferrari F300 18ct Rose Gold Chronograph model, estimated at between £4,000 to £4,500.

Nick Whale, managing director, Silverstone Auctions, said: “Our lifestyle collection is a great opportunity for watch collectors and aficionados to view or acquire a wide variety of rare and desirable watches in one location.

“While some of the watches are expected to reach significant figures, there’s still plenty on offer for those looking to secure a collectable timepiece for a more modest sum.”

As well as the watches, the lifestyle collection includes fine wines, exquisite vintage jewellery and stylish leather goods. The lifestyle auction at Silverstone circuit acts as a curtain raiser to the classic car and race car sale, also hosted by Silverstone Auctions on the same day.
