Unigestion Wins SimCorp Award for Overcoming Market Complexity with a Single Integrated Solution
SimCorp, a leading provider of investment management solutions and services for the global financial services industry, today announced that Unigestion, a leading Swiss asset manager with USD 20bn in assets under management, is the winner of the SimCorp Award 2016. The award was presented earlier today at SimCorp’s International User Community Meeting in Hamburg attended by more than 500 industry professionals.
The SimCorp Award recognizes outstanding and innovative investment management firms that demonstrate the ability to effectively deal with market complexity – including new regulation, increasing data requirements and the emergence of new instruments – in one integrated system.
The successful implementation of the single integrated investment management solution with an IBOR at its core has enabled Unigestion to consolidate its system landscape by decommissioning more than ten legacy tools and systems.
The firm has demonstrated:
- Significantly improved time-to-market when implementing new instruments, now achieved in a matter of weeks rather than months
- More effective and value-adding data management capabilities achieved by merging ten stand-alone databases into a central data management solution
- Elimination of a wide range of manual reporting workflows, now replaced with standardized and automated processes in a scalable solution that supports multiple data sources
- New ‘look through’ feature for Unigestion’s clients offering an instant overview of key figures, including accruals, redemptions, investment exposure and performance contribution
- Smooth and rapid system integration of a hedge fund acquisition in February 2016
Regis Martin, Deputy CEO at Unigestion commented: “We see the seamlessly integrated, simplified system architecture as the ideal long-term solution for operating efficiently in a market with increasing complexity and competition. It has resulted in more lean and efficient processes, has improved our capacity to cope with considerable volume, and helped boost our ability to meet our sophisticated clients’ needs.”
Klaus Holse, SimCorp CEO and member of the judging panel commented: “More and more market participants recognize that operating efficiently in a market with increasing levels of complexity requires tight system integration across the value chain. Unigestion is a strong testament to the benefits investment managers can gain from consolidation and integration, which makes this award highly deserved.”
Previous award recipients include leading investment management firms such as: MEAG, Nordea Savings and Asset Management, Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management, Alberta Investment Management Corporation, and Ashmore Investment Management.
