New double-sealed CamGT for inlet air filtration

Camfil Power Systems has upgraded and enhanced the features of one of its best-selling products for air inlet filtration – the CamGT – by developing the CamGT 4V-300, a high-performance filter meeting today’s increasing demands for premium turbine engine protection and optimal filtration.
Key features of the newly launched CamGT 4V-300 include a solid airtight frame and innovative double-sealed design that eliminate the risk of unfiltered bypass air. Turbine operators benefit from enhanced engine protection, reduced maintenance needs, longer turbine life and lower total cost of ownership.
The CamGT 4V-300 is based on Camfil’s recognised filter media construction with vertical pleats and open hot-melt separators. The new double-sealed design is based on the same bonding technique used in ULPA-class clean room filters, with the filter media packs glued onto a plastic container firmly fixed to a durable plastic frame. The double sealing prevents air bypass between the media and the frame – a common phenomenon in ordinary inlet air filters that lets salt, coarse and submicron particles bypass the filter and foul turbines, resulting in unnecessary and expensive downtime.
To prevent the media from bulging or bursting, aerodynamic grids are added to the air exit sides for additional integrity. Combined with the new solid frame, the filter withstands a continuous pressure drop of >6250 Pa. The vertical pleats and open separators also allow trapped water to drain freely, avoiding re-entrainment of dissolved impurities and keeping the pressure drop low in high-humidity conditions.

The CamGT 4V-300 is designed for turbine air inlets, axial/reciprocating compressors, offshore and coastal installations, and turbines operating in dry or arctic conditions. Certified in accordance with EN779:2012 F7-F9, EN1822:2009 E10-12 and ASHRAE 52.2-1999 MERV 13-16.
