Repair specialist Plastic Surgeon launches new cruise ship repair service
Plastic Surgeon carry out maintenance work for major cruise lines.
The UK-based cosmetic repair specialist Plastic Surgeon, can now claim to be a global force in facilities management after reaching agreements to carry out maintenance work for major cruise lines, while the ships are sailing to destinations such as the Mediterranean and the West Indies.
Plastic Surgeon is the cosmetic repair specialist for damage to - Plastic and GRP, Woods and Veneers, Stone and Brick, Ceramics and Enamel, Glass and Glazing, Metals and Foils, and other Surfaces.
Plastic Surgeon’s Managing Director, Rob Mouser comments:
“These liners are in dock only for a day or less, for changeover and taking on supplies, so we have entered agreements to have riding crews of Finishers sail with the ships to carry out cosmetic repairs to the cabins and public areas. The ship’s management arrange with the passengers a time window when work can be carried out and our Finishers are accompanied by a steward, who is present to ensure everything is left perfectly clean and tidy, as if we had never been there.
“The Finishers set off with the equivalent of the stock from two of our vans and therefore have all the materials and equipment required to carry out any repair they come up against: it having been agreed that they will inspect the cabins for any blemishes beyond the job they have been tasked to do. So they might be asked to repair a chipped sink or shower tray and then also carry out a wood grain repair to a piece of furniture. It is a new challenge for us, logistically, but one we are equal to.”
Plastic Surgeon recently won ‘Specialist Contractor of the Year’ in the Construction News Awards, where the judges commented: “Any main contractor would want our winning company as part of their supply chain. They showed a great diversification strategy, starting from the car industry, moving to housing, now construction and into repairs on cruise ships."
