British Manufacturer SAVORTEX has been shortlisted in the ‘Retrofit Product Award’ category at the 2013 Greenbuild Awards.

SAVORTEX, the young and ambitious, technology-driven British Manufacturer of energy efficient hand dryers has been confirmed as finalists at the 2013 Greenbuild Awards for their super energy efficient hand dryer – the Vortex 540 Diamond White. The awards celebrate truly sustainable buildings; they are the only awards that are designed to reward the performance of truly sustainable buildings in use.
Recognising the buildings across a number of sectors, including domestic, education and leisure buildings, the awards focus on actual measured performance, not design intent or performance specifications.
SAVORTEX have been entered into a new category called the ‘Retrofit Product Award’ (in association with Salford University, to recognise product innovations for retrofit solutions) and the winners will be announced on the 8thMay during the awards ceremony at the Midland Hotel, Manchester.

SAVORTEX holds The Guinness World Records title for most hands dried using 30kJ of energy. This was devised by Guinness World Records officials as a challenge to measure the energy efficiency in hand drying. The Vortex EcoSmart successfully dried four pairs of hands using less than 30kJ of energy. Typically, hand dryers use between 72kJ and 96kJ of power to dry just one pair of hands. SAVORTEX successfully achieved four pairs of dry hands using just under 25kJ of energy – smashing the minimums set by Guinness World Records officials and claiming the world record.
