Silverdell PLC announce Technical Advisory Board for nuclear, utilities, energy and environment sectors
Technical Advisory Board for the nuclear, utilities, energy and environment industries set up by Silverdell PLC.
Silverdell PLC has set up a Technical Advisory Board for the nuclear, utilities, energy and environment industries, which will further enhance their position as a Global Specialist Environmental Support Services business. Following large scale contract wins such as the Magnox framework towards the end of 2011, Silverdell is now in a strong position to provide independent, thought-leading opinion that will add significant value to the overall global nuclear, energy and power generation ‘debate’.
The Technical Advisory Board will be headed up by Dr Pat Upson CBE and Graham Ludlow both of whom have joined forces with Silverdell to demonstrate the Group’s capabilities within these sectors.
Grahame joins Silverdell after a successful career working within the FM and engineering sectors. Previously, Grahame was Chair and CEO of SPIE Matthew Hall and recent projects include British Airports Authority (Heathrow and Gatwick) and the Ministry of Defence.
Pat Upson started work for BNFL at Sellafield in the early 1970’s and has served the UK nuclear industry in a number of executive roles over the past 25 years including being President of the Nuclear Society in 1999/2000. More recently, Pat was Chairman of the LES Company when it successfully applied for a licence in the USA for the Enrichment plant in New Mexico. Pat also enjoyed his role as CEO of Urenco's Enrichment Technology Company (ETC Limited). He now works as a renowned Nuclear Consultant which includes nuclear insurance and nuclear decommissioning projects.
Pat Upson commented:
“The Technical Advisory Board will provide independent, impartial advice and will focus on key issues facing large-scale industrial plant operations, across the global nuclear, utilities, energy and environment sectors; including technical support and strategic guidance.”
He went on to say:
“The demolition, de-planting and bulk asbestos removal framework contract with Magnox is testimony to Silverdell’s capabilities in these challenging, highly regulated environments.”
