Electronics recycler employs 325, earning company a spot on the list

Sims Recycling Solutions, the global leader in electronics reuse and recycling, has been ranked as a top technology service firm in the March 7, Nashville Business Journal issue. This publications’ annual list ranks Nashville-area technology service firms by the number of tech employees. Sims placed number 25 on the list and currently employs 325 at its Nashville facility.

“As a global company, Sims Recycling Solutions takes great pride in earning a local award such as this one because it signifies that we are making a difference locally as well,” stated Sean Magann, vice president of Sims Recycling Solutions. “It is important to us to be recognized as a technology service firm, as the company is continuously improving the asset management and security services available.”

Sims Recycling Solutions’ electronics reuse and recycling facility in LaVergne, Tennessee offers specialized IT asset disposal services to local businesses. The full complement of reuse and recycling options available at this site include secure data erasure, unit and component recovery and resale, and environmentally responsible shredding and separation. Among other processing equipment, the advanced shredding and separation system operates on-site to safely reduce and separate electronics into recyclable commodities.

Maximum security is maintained on-site with features including closed-circuit-television (CCTV) surveillance cameras, secure isolated and monitored asset management areas with limited access, metal detectors, card-controlled entry and more. This 200,000-square-foot facility maintains various environmental health and safety certifications including e-Stewards, Responsible Recycling (R2), ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001.
