Daros Piston Rings AB to produce Compacted Graphite Iron using SinterCast Process Control Technology * Daros Piston Rings AB of Gothenburg, Sweden, announces production of Daros Compacted Graphite Iron (CGI) piston rings for the marine diesel industry using SinterCast Process Control Technology * Installation and production to commence during April 2001 SinterCast has entered into a commercial agreement with Daros Piston Rings AB in Gothenburg, Sweden for CGI process control. With foundries in Sweden and Italy and a substantial world market share, Daros is the market leader for the production of piston rings for the marine diesel industry. The collaboration represents the first commercial agreement for SinterCast outside its core business activity of CGI process control for the production of automotive engine blocks and cylinder heads. "Following an in-house development and an analysis of available CGI production technologies, we chose SinterCast to support our production requirements and our plans for future market growth. The ease of operation of the SinterCast System 2000 provides the potential to extend CGI production to our production facilities while controlling the core CGI procedures from our home base in Sweden" said Sven-Eric Larsson, Managing Director of Daros.
