Employers at the Wilton 11 Energy from Waste (EfW) plant are set to hold a Jobs Fair to showcase employment opportunities at the site. The event will be held on 19 February from 10am to 7pm at Redcar and Cleveland College, Corporation Road, Redcar, TS10 1EZ.

To date, Wilton 11 has employed around 300 construction workers and around 50 further temporary jobs will be available for skilled workers over the coming months as construction continues. 49 permanent posts will also be created to operate the plant. During the lifetime of the project, a total of around 400 jobs will have been created.

Andy Stokes, SITA UK Project Director, said:

“We want to make sure local people know about the jobs that will be coming up at Wilton 11. We are particularly keen to hear from laggers, welders, pipe fitters, electricians and general labourers, as these are the skills we will need as the second phase of construction begins. Later in the year, we will also be recruiting for 49 permanent staff to operate the site.”

The event is free to attend and there is no need to register in advance. Visitors are asked to bring along their CV, including contact details, to leave with exhibitors. CVs can also be submitted online at www.wilton11jobsfair.co.uk.
