Heikki Haasmaa appointed as the new CEO of Sitowise Group to lead company’s Nordic growth strategy

Sitowise’s Board of Directors has appointed M.Sc. Heikki Haasmaa, 43, as the CEO of Sitowise Group. Haasmaa comes from a position as a Senior Vice President in KONE where he has been responsible of KONE’s global Maintenance Business. Prior to his current role, he has worked in KONE for 19 years in multiple international management roles.

Pekka Eloholma, 61, has led Sitowise since 2019. Prior to his role as CEO, he was part of Sitowise's Board of Directors for two years, first as a member, then for almost a year as Chairman of the Board.

“My decision to recede from such an exciting job developed gradually over the last summer. After the successful IPO on spring 2021, Sitowise is now facing a new Nordic growth path, for which we have laid a strong foundation together during recent years. I am proud of Sitowise, and the opportunity I’ve got to lead this company forward on its exciting growth journey. I’m especially grateful to all Sitowise’s employees for their great attitude and expertise, which is the basis for our success”, Pekka Eloholma says.

Since 2017, Sitowise has doubled the number of employees, growing into an organization of 2,000 experts. During these last years, Sitowise has according to corporate strategy, strengthened its position as a provider of digital solutions, expanded its operations to Sweden, and got listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange on March 2021.

“I would like to thank Pekka Eloholma on behalf of the entire board, for his great work during last years and especially his contribution in the successful listing process. Pekka has led Sitowise throughout significant growth and change years and has had the confidence of both the Board of Directors and the company's personnel for the work he has done. We searched for a new CEO in a good cooperation with Pekka”, says Chairman of the Board Eero Heliövaara.

Eloholma will continue in his position until Heikki Haasmaa takes office, no later than May 4, 2022. Haasmaa has a long career in the listed company KONE in various management positions. He is currently the Senior Vice President of KONE's global Maintenance Business, which employs 30,000 people.

“It is important to us that Sitowise’s new CEO shares our passion to develop the company to be the forerunner in the built environment, challenging the entire industry to address the demands and opportunities of both sustainability and digitalization. Heikki Haasmaa has a versatile experience from a global listed company. He brings knowhow of international business development and a broad understanding of the possibilities in digital solutions”, Eero Heliövaara emphasizes.
