Claes Larsson named to head Skanska Project Development Sweden Claes Larsson has been appointed as the new manager of Skanska Project Development Sweden following the decision by Olof Johansson to leave Skanska and his position at Skanska Project Development Sweden. Claes Larsson, 37, holds a degree in engineering from Chalmers University of Technology and an MBA from the Gothenburg School of Economics. He has held various positions within Skanska during the past 12 years, most recently as head of Skanska Real Estate Göteborg. Claes Larsson has nationwide experience, including responsibility for developing Skanska's retail parks in Barkarby, Länna, Väla, Kållered and Knalleland, which all were sold last year for a major gain. "Claes is a natural choice and a strong force within our Swedish project development operations," says Claes Björk, President and CEO of Skanska. "He is creative and motivating and holds a strong position among our customers and employees." "The time with Skanska has been fantastic," says Olof Johansson. "But after 15 years, I feel a need to seek other challenges. For this reason, I decided now was the time to take this step." Skanska Project Development Sweden is currently developing about 180,000 square meters of commercial premises. During 2001, fully developed property projects in Sweden were sold for a total of about SEK 3 billion, with a capital gain of SEK 1.3 billion.
