Skanska and Diligentia to cooperate in property development - SEK 150 M construction contract for Skanska Skanska and Diligentia have signed an agreement under which Skanska will build, market and lease an office property at Norra Station in Stockholm. The contract is valued at SEK 150 M. The new building will have a floor space of approximately 20,000 square meters. For this project, Skanska and Diligentia are combining their expertise and resources in the project development, leasing and construction of commercial premises. This will give customers new opportunities to participate in the design of their future premises in the early stages. "We see considerable advantages in this cooperation with Skanska," Björn Casserlöv, Marketing Manager at Diligentia comments. "This will shorten decision paths and make the construction process more efficient, which is beneficial for tenants" "From Skanska's viewpoint, this is one aspect of our aim to extend services to our customers by utilizing our project development expertise," says Lennart Daleke, regional manager of Skanska Construction Building Division, Stockholm. "In addition to our construction know-how, we are giving customers an opportunity to use to our marketing and leasing resources." The character of the Norra Station area has changed significantly in the past six or seven years. New tenants have moved in, buildings have been renovated, and there is now a mixture of housing, offices and retail premises. Proximity to the city center and good communications makes this an attractive area. The project is expected to commence during April 2000. Completion is scheduled for the autumn of 2001.
