Skanska awarded City University of New York contract for USD 373 M, about SEK 2.4 billion
Skanska has signed a new contract to complete the final phase of the City University of New York Advanced Science Research Campus at City College in Manhattan with DASNY, the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York. The contract value for Skanska is USD 373 M, about SEK 2.4 billion, which will be included in order bookings for USA Building in the third quarter.
The project includes the interior fit-out of approximately 37,000 square meter, comprising a four-story City College of New York Building, a five-story Advanced Science and Research Center Building, a common shared ground floor and a plaza area constructed on the roof of the shared ground floor between the two buildings. The contract also includes extensive sitework and landscaping, state-of-the-art imaging facilities, a clean room lab suite, a vivarium, a laboratory, an office, an auditorium, mechanical and loading dock areas.
Seeking LEED Silver certification, work on the project begins this month, and is scheduled to be completed in time for the 2014 Fall semester.
