Skanska awarded contract from Svenska Kraftnät for SEK 515 M

Skanska has signed an agreement with Swedish Kraftnät for earthworks along a 185 km long cable distance through Småland and Skåne in Sweden. The work is part of the South-West Link, which aims to improve energy supply in southern Sweden. The contract value amounts to SEK 515 M, divided into two projects, which is included in order bookings for the second quarter of 2012.

Skanska will build working pathways and perform excavation and filling works for the routing of underground cables in the power line South-West Link. The work ranges from Värnamo in Småland to Hurva in Skåne, a total of about 185 km.

The project will begin in August 2012 and will employ about 100 people up to the completion in August 2014.
