Skanska builds light rail extension in the State of Washington, USA, for USD 778 M, about SEK 7.3 billion

Skanska has signed a contract with Sound Transit to build the Lynnwood Link Extension L300 Main Package in the State of Washington, USA. The project is located in the cities of Shoreline, Mountlake Terrace and Lynnwood. The contract is worth USD 778 M, about SEK 7.3 billion, which will be included in the US order bookings for the fourth quarter 2019.

Skanska will construct about 6 kilometers (3.8 miles) of new guideway alignment from Shoreline to Lynnwood. The project will include 3.5 kilometers (2.2 miles) of aerial guideway, two elevated stations and a five story parking garage.

Construction is underway. The project is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2024.
