Skanska builds new foundry for Scania in Södertälje, Sweden, for about SEK 600 M
Skanska has signed a contract with Scania to build a new foundry for engine components in Södertälje, Sweden. The contract is worth about SEK 600 M, which will be included in the order bookings for Skanska Sweden for the first quarter 2019.
Skanska's assignment is to construct the new facility on two levels with a total area of 25,000 square meters.
The investment in a new foundry is one of Scania's largest industrial investments. It will make it possible to triple the capacity compared to the current foundry and also entail great savings in energy consumption.
The construction work starts immediately and has a targeted completion date of 2020.
