Skanska has signed a contract with SFE Produksjon to build Østerbø power plant in the municipality of Høyanger, Norway. The contract is worth NOK 350M, about SEK 370M, which will be included in the Nordic order bookings for the second quarter of 2017.

The project includes an about 7.1 kilometer long tunnel in the mountain, drilling of shafts, blasting for the power plant and concrete work in the power station. The area in which the power plant is built has particularly good conditions for hydropower, with a natural water reservoir with high storage capacity. Several workplaces will only be reached by helicopter.

SFE Produksjon conducts the project in collaboration with BKK Produksjon. Østerbø power plant will have an annual output of 165 GWh, which corresponds to the consumption of about 8,000 households.

Construction will begin in May 2017 and the project will be completed during 2020.
