Skanska has signed an agreement with Familjebostäder to build a block consisting of 178 rental apartments in Stockholm, Sweden. The contract is worth about SEK 400M, which will be included in the order bookings for Skanska Sweden for the second quarter of 2017.

The buildings will be seven to twelve storeys high, with rising towers in each corner of the block, and underground garage on two floors. Six apartments consist of a group home and a preschool with high requirements of sustainability will be built. On the ground floor, premises are being built for restaurants and shops.

Construction start is scheduled for August 2017 and completion during May 2020.

The new block will be the first public rented apartments in the emerging Hagastaden, between Vasastan and the Karolinska University Hospital.
