Skanska builds school in Bergen, Norway, for NOK 370M, about SEK 390M

Skanska has signed a contract with the Municipality of Bergen to build a new secondary school in Bergen, Norway. The contract is worth NOK 370M, about SEK 390M, which will be included in the Nordic order bookings for the fourth quarter 2022.

The 9,300 square meters secondary school has a capacity of 500 pupils. It includes a department for students with mental and physical disabilities. The project includes demolition of the existing school building, construction of the new school and refurbishment of an existing sports building.  

The construction work will be carried out as an emission free construction site. The new school will be built according to the passive house standard and will be certified according to BREEAM-NOR level Very Good.

Construction is expected to begin in the fourth quarter 2022 and will be completed in the second quarter 2025.
