Skanska builds school in Hokksund, Norway, for NOK 477M, about SEK 480M

Skanska has signed a contract with the Municipality of Øvre Eiker to build a new school in Hokksund outside Oslo, Norway. The contract is worth NOK 477M, about SEK 480M, which will be included in the Nordic order bookings for the third quarter 2023.

The new school campus will be approximately 11,000 square meters and contain a new school, a multi-purpose sports hall and an indoor swimming pool. 

The project has ambitious climate and environmental goals. The buildings will mainly be constructed with cross laminated timber and the project targets a 30 percent reduction in emissions compared with reference projects. The school will be an energy-positive building.

Construction is expected to start in October 2023 with completion in July 2025.
