Skanska builds schools with multi-purpose hall and rehabilitation center in Trondheim, Norway, for NOK 781M, about SEK 770M
Skanska has signed a contract with Trondheim municipality to build Nidarvoll schools, a multi-purpose hall to the school and a rehabilitation center. The contract is worth NOK 781M, about SEK 770M, which will be included in the Nordic order bookings for the second quarter 2021.
The schools, for both 1-7th grade and 8-10th grade, cover about 14,800 square meters and will house up to a total of 1,000 students. The rehabilitation center covers approximately 10,000 square meters over four floors, where 72 short-term places are planned for rehabilitation as well as associated training and office facilities.
The Nidarvoll projects has very high ambitions when it comes to sustainability. Solar cell panels and a common energy center divides energy between the buildings and optimizes consumption and produces electricity in order to secure a low energy use.
The construction work for the rehabilitation center is planned to start in June 2021 and will be completed in April 2023. Construction of the schools and multi-purpose hall is planned to start in September 2021 and will be completed in November 2023.
