Skanska has signed a contract with Trondheim Postgård DA, owned by Reitan AS, to build a new theatre and museum in Trondheim, Norway. The contact is worth NOK 410M, about SEK 430M, which will be included in the Nordic order bookings for the second quarter 2022.

The project is called Nye Hjorten Teater & Posten Modern Museum. Since January 2021, Skanska has been working in close collaboration with the customer, architect, and consultants in the development phase of the project.

The project is a combination of rehabilitation and conversion of the old post office building in Trondheim into a museum, and a newly built theatre closely connected to the post office building. Skanska’s customers vision for the project is to develop a cultural quarter as a gift to the city of Trondheim.

Construction is expected to start in august 2022 and the project will be completed in June 2024.
