Skanska constructs tunnel in Stockholm Bypass, Sweden, for SEK 1.3 billion
The Swedish Transport Administration has selected Skanska as contractor for constructing the southern connection of Stockholm Bypass tunnel. The contract is worth about SEK 1.3 billion, which will be included in order bookings for Skanska Sweden for the second quarter of 2015.
The project covers about 350 meters of tunnel with two lanes in each direction, southbound connections and a new interchange.
Construction work will start in the spring of 2016, with expected completion in 2021. About 150 people will work in the project carried out as a turnkey contract.
Skanska Sweden is one of Sweden’s largest construction companies, with operations in building and civil-engineering construction. The business unit has approximately 11,000 employees and revenue in 2014 amounted to approximately SEK 30 billion.
