Skanska expands hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden, for about SEK 550M

Skanska has signed an agreement with the Västra Götaland region to carry out renovations and expand the Eastern Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden. The agreement is worth about SEK 550 million, which will be included in the order bookings for Sweden in the first quarter of 2025.

The project includes remodeling on two levels in the existing central clinic and to add a new building consisting of five floors near the central clinic. In total, the construction works cover a gross area of ​​about 16,000 square meters.

The construction project represents an important step in expanding and modernizing the Eastern Hospital and will increase the capacity for combined intensive care and pressure chamber treatment, both for the region and for the entire country. Opportunities for conducting advanced research will also be opened up here.

Construction is scheduled to start in March this year and the work is expected to continue until April 2028.
