Skanska, in a 50/50 joint venture with DPR Construction, has been selected as the construction manager for a 2.8 million square foot, about 260 000 square meter, state-of-the-art research and development facility for a client in the U.S.

The initial contract amount is USD 256 M. The 50 percent share for Skanska is USD 128 M, about SEK 860 M, and has been included in the order bookings for the first quarter 2012. Skanska anticipates amendments to the contract as additional phases and associated prices are agreed to. Those additions will be in the order bookings for Skanska USA Building and Skanska UK in the quarter in which they are signed.

The facility will incorporate green design concepts to achieve LEED certification from the United States Green Building Council.
