Skanska USA Commercial Development invests USD 51 M, about SEK 372 M, in the project Stone34 in Seattle, USA. The building will be a mixed-use office and retail building.

The building includes about 12,000 square meters of office and retail within five stories. Brooks Sports Inc will lease about 11,000 square meters for its new global headquarters. The project is designed with about 800 square meters of outdoor pedestrian areas and situated next to Seattle’s most prominent urban trail.

The project is LEED pre-certified at the highest level, Platinum, and includes technology and features which allow real-time monitoring of employee use, hydronic heating and cooling systems, stormwater capture and reuse, and a building design to increase day lighting and reduce summer heat loads.

Construction will start before the end of 2012 and is expected to be completed by midyear 2014.

Skanska USA is one of the leading development and construction companies in the country, consisting of four business units: Skanska USA Building, which specializes in building construction; Skanska USA Civil, specialized in civil infrastructure; Skanska Infrastructure Development, which develops public-private partnerships; and Skanska Commercial Development, which develops commercial development projects in select U.S. markets.
