Skanska rebuilds pulp mill for SCA in Timrå, Sweden, for SEK 360 million

Skanska has signed an agreement with SCA to undertake a comprehensive refurbishment and extension of the pulp mill Östrand in Timrå, Sweden. The contract value is SEK 360 million, which will be included in the order bookings for Skanska Sweden for the the fourth quarter of 2015.

The expansion includes new drying machine, operations center, and media paths while the rebuild and extension comprises of causticize, recovery boiler and turbine, and various ground works. The project is part of SCA's investments to double the capacity of the plant.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2016 and the project is expected to be completed in May 2018.

Skanska Sweden is one of Sweden’s largest construction companies, with operations in building and civil-engineering construction.
