Skanska has been recognized by TIME Magazine as one of the World’s Most Sustainable Companies 2026. The recognition reflects Skanska’s long-standing commitment to integrating sustainability into its business and delivering measurable value for customers through more sustainable solutions, innovation and responsible business practices.

“This recognition underlines that sustainability is increasingly a business-critical advantage. By working closely with our customers, suppliers and partners across the full value chain, we can turn climate and resource challenges into better projects, stronger performance and long-term value creation. It is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our talented teams, who bring this ambition to life in projects every day,” says Anders Danielsson, President and CEO, Skanska Group.

TIME’s ranking is based on an assessment of more than 5,800 companies worldwide and combines measurable environmental and social performance indicators – including emissions, energy use, resource efficiency and safety – with external ratings, commitments and transparent reporting.

“This highlights how we translate sustainability into real, measurable value for our customers – reflected in improved energy performance, with our developments on average achieving 25% better energy efficiency than market standards, and in the scale of certified projects, representing SEK 58 billion of our construction revenue,” says Lena Hök, Executive Vice President, Sustainability and Innovation, Skanska.

At Skanska, we work across the full value chain to make better use of resources and create long-term value together with our customers and partners. Through smarter and more efficient design, energy solutions, circularity and lower-carbon materials, as well as biodiversity and nature-focused solutions, we help reduce waste, improve performance and deliver projects that are more resilient, efficient and commercially relevant over time.

The ranking, developed in partnership with Statista, evaluates companies on commitments and ratings, reporting and transparency, as well as environmental and social performance.
