Skanska renovates hydropower plant in the Österdal River, Sweden, for about SEK 320 M
Skanska has signed an agreement with Fortum Sweden to renovate Trängslet’s hydropower plant in Älvdalen municipality, Sweden. The contract is worth about SEK 320 M, which will be included in the Swedish order bookings for the third quarter 2019.
The project includes, among other things, blasting of about 200,000 cubic meters of rock, improvement of waterways and tunnel construction in existing dams.
The work will have a strong focus on minimizing the climate impact, which will characterize the choice of production methods such as mass handling, transport and collection of existing material in the immediate area.
Construction start is scheduled for October 2019 and the project is expected to be completed by mid-2024.
