Skanska secures highway contract in Finland for EUR 38.4 M, about SEK 357 M

Skanska has secured a contract to upgrade Highway 2 in Finland. The contract amount, totaling EUR 38.4 M, about SEK 357 M, is included in order bookings for the third quarter. The customer is the Finnish road administration Finnra.

The contract covers upgrade of 12 sections, totaling about 40 kilometers, of the 200-kilometer Highway 2 between Helsinki and Pori. The project includes new lanes, a number of interchanges, with on- and off-ramps as well as wildlife fencing along the actual stretches of road. The project starts this autumn and is scheduled to be completed at the end of 2008. In accordance with the contract, the expansion work will be carried out largely at the same time on all road sections. The expansion is intended to increase traffic safety and reduce environmental impact as well as to stimulate development in the Pori region.
