Skanska sells HansaCompagniet in Malmö; capital gain of SEK 272 million Skanska Öresund AB has sold the Lybeck 6 property block in Malmö to Fastighets AB Briggen i Öresund, which is part of the Castellum group. The sales price is SEK 325 million, which will generate a capital gain of SEK 272 million. The approximately 20,000-m2 property contains the renowned HansaCompagniet shopping mall, office premises and apartments. The building, which is a landmark in central Malmö, originally accommodated the NK department store. The building was completed by Skanska in 1964 and was subsequently owned jointly by Skanska and Hugo Åberg Fastighets AB. The property, which has been wholly owned by Skanska since 1972, has undergone comprehensive modernization and refurbishment during the 1990s. "The sale is in line with our strategy of selling fully developed properties to enable the development of new projects," says Kent Jönsson, president of Skanska Öresund AB, which develops and manages real estate in the Öresund region, with a focus on Copenhagen, Malmö and Lund.
