Skanska sells retirement home and rental apartments in Älvängen, Sweden, for about SEK 310 M

Skanska has sold a combined retirement home and rental apartments for senior citizens in Älvängen, Sweden, for an underlying property value of about SEK 310 M. The buyer is Rikshem. The project is developed by Skanska Sweden. The divestment will be recorded in the business streams Commercial Property Development and Residential Development in the second quarter 2018. The transfer is scheduled for the third quarter 2018.

The project comprises two separate buildings: a four-storey retirement home with 50 apartments and a rental housing unit consisting of 28 apartments designed for persons over 65 years old. The buildings are leased to Ale municipality.

The retirement home is certified according to LEED Gold and the intention is to also apply for environmental certification for the rental apartments according to Miljöbyggnad Silver.
