Skanska sells the office property Gröna Skrapan in Gothenburg, Sweden, for SEK 617 M, which will be booked in the second quarter of 2013. The buyer is a company related to Stena Fastigheter which will take possession of the property during the third quarter.

The property is attractively located next to E6/E20 in Gårda and comprises about 17,000 square meters, with tenants such as Skanska, Gunnebo, Apply Emtunga and Hitta.se.

The 16-storey landmark is the result of Skanska's journey to green and it is one of the first office projects in the Nordic countries that have been certified at the highest level, Platinum, according to the international environmental certification system LEED. The property is also EU GreenBuilding certified.

In 2012, Gröna Skrapan received the Sweden Green Building Award in the LEED New Construction category as a project with exemplary environmental performance.

“Gårda is an expansive area in Gothenburg with very good communications. Moreover, the property is a great addition to our existing portfolio in Gårda. It is in line with our strategy to acquire attractive properties in central locations”, says Christel Armstrong Darvik, CEO Stena Fastigheter.

“The sale confirms the demand for attractive office properties in strategic places in Gothenburg, and shows that our investment in flexible and sustainable offices in Gårda is appealing to both tenants and investors”, says Micko Pettersson, President of Skanska Property Gothenburg.

CBRE has advised Skanska in the transaction.
