Skanska signs design-build contract for tunnel in Washington, D.C., USA, worth USD 94 M, about SEK 612 M

Skanska has signed a joint venture design-build contract together with JayDee for the new District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authorities Clean River’s First Street Tunnel in Washington, DC, USA. The total amount  of the contract is USD 158 M, about SEK 1 billion. Skanska’s share of 60 percent is worth USD 94 M, about SEK 612 M, which will be included in the order bookings for Skanska USA Civil in the fourth quarter 2013.

The project features flood water mitigation in the communities of Bloomingdale and Le Droit in Washington, D.C., with design and construction of tunnels and shafts.

The project starts in October 2013 and is expected to be completed in the second quarter 2016.
