Skanska strengthens its global human resources function Richard Caldera has been appointed Senior Vice President responsible for the Skanska Human Resources Group. He will be based at Skanska's corporate office in the U.S. in Whitestone, New York. The Human Resources Group under the management of Richard Caldera will focus on a number of strategically decisive HR issues for the Group, including leadership development and talent management. Another important objective is to create conditions for increased coordination and skills exchange between the business units of the Group. Richard Caldera, 45, served most recently as Senior Vice President Human Resources at CNA Financial Corporation in Chicago, Illinois. Between 1980 and 1998, he held various human resources positions within Amoco Corporation, including four years as personnel director for Europe, based in Switzerland. At the same time, a new position is being created within the Human Resources Group in which Birgitta Jönsson has been appointed Benefits & Compensation Manager. Her responsibilities include developing functional benefit and compensation systems. Birgitta Jönsson worked previously with these issues within Skanska Financial Services. Peter Gimbe has been appointed Press at Corporate Communications with responsibility for Skanska's media contacts. Peter Gimbe has several years of journalistic experience, most recently as news editor at the Swedish business daily Finanstidningen and editor-in-chief of the Fastighetsvärlden trade publication.
