Skanska to build city hall and school in Tromsö, Norway totaling SEK 340M Skanska has signed two contracts with the Tromsö Municipality in northern Norway. Combined, the projects are valued at SEK 340 M, NOK 290M. The contracts are included in order bookings for the first quarter of 2003. Skanska will construct a new municipal center, including the city hall, library and movie theater totaling 18,400 square meters in central Tromsö. Construction will begin this spring and is scheduled to be completed in summer 2005. This contract is valued at NOK 182 M. The other contract with the Tromsö Municipality is for the Mortensen upper secondary school. The project, valued at NOK 108 M and comprising 7,800 square meters, is to be completed in summer 2004. The projects will be carried out by Selmer Skanska, which is Norway's largest construction company, with sales in 2002 of SEK 8.5 billion. At year-end 2002, the order backlog was SEK 6.1 billion.
