Skanska to build data center in Quebec for USD 55 M, about SEK 350 M

Skanska has signed a design build contract regarding the new Tier III Super Internet Data Center (SIDC) in Rimouski, Quebec, Canada. The contract value amounts to USD 55 M, about SEK 350 M, which will be included in order bookings for Skanska USA Building in the third quarter. The customer is TELUS.

The Rimouski SIDC facilities will be designed and constructed to achieve LEED® Gold certification by the Canadian Green Building Council (CGBC). The first phase of the multi-phase build-out is scheduled to be completed in 2012. This is Skanska’s third data center in Canada, with two projects already under way for a confidential client in Southern Ontario.
